High school senior Laine is an average student. She gets good grades, works at her father's Speedway, and plays varsity soccer. She seems like a normal teenager, but underneath it all, she's suffering. Depression isn't an illness you see as easily as a broken arm, and Laine spends every moment of the day distracting herself from the oblivion that promises to pull her so far down that she'd lose herself. That is, until she finds the ultimate distraction: Jude Kipling, a homeless boy that lives in an camper in her father's junkyard.
