Have you ever been so consumed in all your problems? Have you ever had a dream you felt like you could never accomplish? In this story Rain Dylan deals with all these things and more. Having a horrible first year of middle school, and having to deal with intense bullying, anxiety, stage fright, and insecurities, Rain is at her wits end. Not knowing what or who to turn too, she starts obsessing over the theater/singing kids. She imagines herself on stage wowing the crowd. But she always bounces back to reality realizing with her extreme stage fright, she could never do it. With the theater kids turning on her and bullying her, Rain starts reaching her lowest point. The schools music teacher Ms. Dee picks her back up. Introducing her to other children with her same problem, and giving her solo lessons to reach her goal. Your values, your principles, your faith, your heart." He mumbled the last part. "Who are you, Samantha Pears?" I took a step closer to him, holding his gaze. "I'm a Christian, Caleb. A child of the God who loves you truly." "So," He paused. "That means, just like God, you should love me too." My eyes widened by a fraction. Uh? "Huh-" "You said it yourself, Samantha. So would you love me, your bully?" ~~~ "Our parents are optimistic about us." He said with no emotion. "That's never going to happen, Caleb Brown." "And who's going to stop them AND win?" ~~~ It was Samantha Pears' wish to have a peaceful senior year when she and her siblings moved to downtown Portland, Oregon to reunite with their father, Bobby Pears, business tycoon and a total bourgeoisie. But Bobby's status is about to change and not for the better. The only solution available is to either climb down the social ladder or successfully convince Samantha that a certain son of his long time friend, Charles Brown, is a good fit for her for marriage. Samantha is unyielding but as she carries out her mission to frustrate all her father's attempts at convincing her, she soon discovers why her father would do all it takes to remain up on the social ladder, a reason which even she cannot stand against. Faced with many difficulties, Samantha has no choice but to learn to totally rely on God for help. Would Samantha be able to break free from the hold of the bourgeoisies and their bullying kids and finally get justice? There's only one way to find out. "I need your help LORD, desperately." Due to having a terrible memory, Aiden decided to write in journals about his daily struggles, his longing for a better life, and breakthroughs that he accomplishes throughout the story. Aiden loves to sing and Write his own music. He is good at the piano but his love is the old guitar that his Gramps gave him years ago. Aiden has one younger brother named Caleb, which is the normal typical annoying brother. Aiden has a girlfriend named Tessa who lives about an hour away from him who he longs to marry. Throughout the story, Aiden struggles to move on through each day, as days turn into night and night into day, he finds himself growing colder towards his father. Who is the towns hero practically. everybody loves the star football coach, Josh Phillips. Things aren't what they seem behind doors though, their father tends to be abusive. Verbal and physical. Aiden can choose to live with his mom but chooses not to because he wants to protect his brother who can't choose yet. As Aiden dives deeper into his fathers unknown past, he uncovers more and more details about his father's past. As he continues to dive deeper, the tension grows heavier. Through out the story, Aiden finds himself digging through old journals, trying to remember certain things. Can Aiden solve the mystery of his father's behavior and show the world the true nature of his father or will he choose to shrink down to nothing and continue to struggle?
