The voice of God.. this is the voice that we desire to hear. It will sometimes be very distinct, but sometimes may sound very similar to your own thoughts.. or it may come in other forms.. for instance, there have been times where I thought my mind was wandering but it was really God speaking to me. There have been times where God has spoken to me by recalling things to my memory.. a bible verse that seemed to address something I was pondering, or remembering something someone said to me that fit my current situation, or something I read days (or weeks or even monthes) ago that applied now. And God was bringing it to my attention to communicate with me.

For years I have been committed to having a quiet time each day where I read the Bible and talk to God about what is on my heart, which has been really wonderful but it just struck me today as I began my quiet time that I need to take more time to LISTEN when God is trying to speak to me.
