At the young age of eight Drew and Elizabeth get married. Their wedding is a mess of gummy worm rings, crayon vows and giggles all of which takes place under the old oak tree that separates their backyards. They promise to be best friends forever but when sophomore year comes around things change. Their friendship becomes a beautiful relationship full of love, passion and trust. But when college dawns in on them things change once again. One day, six years into the future, Elizabeth receives a call that sends her whole world crashing down. "I'm getting married." 3 words. To Elizabeth they feel like sharp knives that pierced her heart and re-opened old wounds. She has a decision to make. He wants her to be the supportive best friend he once had but will she be able to? The two weeks that follow are full of tears, dresses, love songs and vows, all in preparation of the wedding she always dreamed about but someone else has taken her place at the altar beside him. Featured on @Romance and @Ambassadors Cover art by the fabulous @LNRoberts1. It's 2019 and university student, Olivia O'Shea, doesn't possess the luck of the Irish as her name might suggest. Instead, she's feeling like she might just be the unluckiest girl on the planet. Her high school sweetheart, Daniel Burns, whom she continued to date in college, was found with his fingers, and a few other more salacious body parts in someone else's cookie jar. Now it's summer vacation and Olivia is back in her hometown licking her wounds and trying to forget it all. At their old high school's international food festival, Olivia runs into Daniel with his new girlfriend, and a storm is definitely brewing. But this storm is a real one with thunder, lightning and rain, and Olivia, caught out in the open, is suddenly struck by lightning. She wakes up in the high school infirmary only to find that she's been transported back to high school with the chance to do it all over again. Olivia is determined to ditch Daniel, in spite of his stubborn advances, and instead tries to rekindle an old flame with the shy introverted Jack Garcia, with whom she'd shared one very spectacular kiss back in high school. As Olivia attempts to pursue Jack, Daniel keeps getting in the way and frustrating her plans. Can she really change her future for the better, or is history only meant to repeat itself? If you liked the iconic 1980s rom-com Peggy Sue Got Married, then you'll love this modern retelling of the classic, time-travel, do-over, second chance at love.
Year of the Chick (book 1 in the "Year of the Chick" series) by romimoondi

[NOTE: This book was written in 2010, a time of long-distance phone cards, weight-loss obsessions, and searching for a man as a solution to life's problems-what a messy time to be alive! In other words, I hope you enjoy this throwback, and while this book does end on a cliffhanger of sorts, the sequel addresses any unanswered questions (which is hopefully fair, given that book 1 is free, ya know?] An awkward family homecoming at Christmas. A humiliating public weigh-in, with two judging parents as the audience. The announcement of a deadline for arranged marriage doom. And that's just the first two chapters. In "Year of the Chick," Romi Narindra must find love before her parents find her a husband. Easy to say, less easy to live through, as this book takes you deep inside "awkward Indian living in the West." To escape her fate, Romi wades through the waters of secret-dating, where self-consciousness is at an all-time high, and experience at an all-time low. It's the sort of thing that would turn almost anyone into a man-crazy freak with romance tunnel-vision, and that's exactly what ends up happening. All the while, a lack of inspiration in her corporate job leads Romi to her love of writing, in what quickly becomes a man-quest play-by-play. From whiskey-breath scum bags to uni-brow creeps and everything in between, Romi and her wingmen come up empty time after time. And that's when she meets a fellow writer. On the Internet. So will it be arranged marriage doom, or an Internet affair that's not as creepy as "To Catch a Predator"? Time will tell in the "year of the chick," a twelve-month quest to find love. Tick-tock. --------------------------------------------- "Year of the Chick" is book one of a series, and book two is available at Amazon! LENGTH: 75,000 words or 285 pages DISCLAIMER: this book contains profanities, blunt accounts of the dating scene, and many awkward family moments. Enjoy!

❤️ #Chicklit #Humor #Romance #NewAdult The moment was profound. The moment was mine. The moment was all that I dreamt it could be. Little did I know the moment would expire, how was I to know that moment would turn into my satire? As my glitters turned to glitches and the memory of his kisses turned sour, I was left brokenhearted and loose around the edges.
