Allyson Stevens is a 15 year old girl who leads an exceptional life; she swims for The National Team, sings for the all- state choir, and is one of the smartest and kindest girls in the 9th Grade. Yet everything in her life isn't as it seems; she spends each day fearing for her best friend, Ruben Parker, who battles depression and anxiety from a life of abuse and torment from her school mates and before adoption family. Allyson and Ruben are so different from each other according to the student body, and Allyson is cornered. But when she's afraid Ruben's going down, she knows what she has to do to save her.
