She was a normal girl in a small town. She'd never asked for it. She'd never wish it on anyone. It just was. It just is. There is and would never be anything to rewind time. Nothing that could and would ever take back their mistake. No way to know why they left or why they never returned. No way to explain the mystery that flooded the oblivious town of normal people. There was one thing perhaps. One thing so small that they may have over looked it. It may just be the solution to all her unremitting problems. Yet, how would they ever know? How would they ever have known that perilous journey they would take? How could she have known the string of events that would follow the one simple hello? How could she have known that her whole life had been a lie? Everyone around her, everything she'd ever known was ripped from her in a matter of days. Everything turned upside down, the contents of her life spilling haplessly from its once perfect place. So there she stood on the ever-crumbling platform that had become her life. Each step causing it to crumble just a little bit more until she stood on a wavering pillar. It swayed. It rocked. But she refused to be knocked down. And though this boy, this one incomprehensible boy, may have been the cause of her deteriorating life, she never left his side. Instead she took his hand into hers and they defeated them all. All of their problems; the demons and the nonbelievers. And the ones who said they wouldn't and they couldn't? Well, they were just afraid that they would.

For readers who have felt lost, numb, or like they didn't belong-Mira's story is for you "Some days, the mirror is the worst place I know. Other days, it's where I disappear." Mira is seventeen, and every morning feels like war. With her body. With her mind. With the silence that fills her room when no one's watching. Struggling with depression, anxiety, and body dysmorphia, Mira has perfected the art of pretending. But when the weight of everything begins to crack through her carefully built mask, she meets people who start to see her-really see her. And that's when the healing begins. Quietly. Messily. Unforgivingly. A raw, lyrical story about self-destruction, first love, and the slow, stubborn fight to believe you're enough.
