What would you do if you only had two months to live?

Layla Carrifer has just been told that she has two months to live. Unfortunately, she is ready for this. In fact, she expected it. She had been sick for years, and Layla knew eventually it would come. So while her mother is worrying and sobbing, she isn't. She is prepared.
But Layla isn't prepared when there's a new guy at school. And she definitely isn't prepared when she finds herself falling in love with him.

"It's ok now, dear. You're ok." She murmurs, as I wake up screaming for the third night in a row. She continues to whisper those words to me, until I catch my breath, and I've calmed down. Then I can't help it. I turn to her and say,
"It will never be ok."

Death Is My BFFLAD (Book Two Original Series) by katrocks247
24 parts Complete
(Bfflad- Best friends for life and death) Dear Reader, Let's start at the beginning shall we? I died. Oh no, not one of these stories again where someone angelic and heroic saves the damsel in distress. If only I was that lucky. My heart stopped beating. My lungs stopped working, my soul began to lift away... And then I was saved by a beautiful man with a kind heart and sparkles sprinkled around his head in a golden halo. A cunning, dazzling smile etched his angled features and his hair lay perfectly on his head like...black, sinful layers of pure cynical distrusting evil. Evil that was just waiting to onset a innocent girl as myself and allow her a short amount of time of happiness, and then finish her off when she became older. I'll give you a hint. The beginning of that description was slightly exaggerated. The Angel of Death. One of the only creatures known that was capable of settling the boundaries of heaven on earth. The only creature capable of making one of the Devil's darkest deals to my loving mother; a second chance for her daughter. This comes with consequences of course. Everything you know about Death is wrong. Death is not natural, Death is not normal, Death is not doleful, and Death is far from mercenary. Death blends into the shadows like coal against the most atramentous sky. Death walks the earth with his cursed, monstrous and exotic features, his enticing voice and betraying alluring eyes. Death deceives, scratches, and plays with your mind, until you slowly and painfully loose your grip on reality. He'll make you believe he's a different person, that there's a sliver hope for him. Hope for you. Death is close. Layla Campbell • four years after her boyfriend dies she's left to raise her three year old by herself. Her job allows her to provide everything necessary they may need, but she won't allow herself one thing: love, which goes against the promise she made. Lorenzo Romanoff • struggling with finding his reason to keep going and stop drinking. The day he meets his brothers lawyer and her little boy that changes. He finds his reason to resist temptation. ••• "I don't want you to leave me." His fingers stop brushing my hair when my confession leaves my lips. "I don't want to leave you, but I have to. I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry." I grip his hospital gown and let out my silent cries as my body shakes. His arms tightens around me trying to comfort me, he knows nothing can. He's dying, and nothing is going to stop that. ••• "I do that a lot, you can't fool me." He says in a softer tone. I clear my throat and look away, the way he's looking at me's making me feel like he can read me as clear as a book, "Do what?" He gets closer to me making my eyes flicker to him, "You don't have to pretend Layla." For some reason it feels though as if I should whisper, "Who said I was pretending?" "Your smile," he murmurs, his eyes drop to my lips making a frown settle on his face. "It's so beautiful when you smile," his finger runs along my bottom lip, "but this one? Darling, this one is fake."
