This is a historical fiction piece based off of the short excerpt of the medal of honour recipient Private First Class Harold C. Agerholm. The actual excerpt is found in the story just before the diary entry. I have always had a fascination with the sacrifice and the bravery of the people who defended our country and so I decided to tell their story.
