Kate had never been on her own for so long before. The last of her group had fallen, and she had scarcely made it out alive, but she had always been hopeful, finding a way to be positive about anything. When Daryl and Aaron find her and bring her into Alexandria, she seems to blend in seamlessly.

Daryl Dixon is completely on his own. After the Saviors burn down Alexandria, he thinks that he is the only survivor. I haven't written a story in the first person since Broken. It's not as easy as it sounds, but I enjoyed the challenge. This story has taken me months to write and I finished it just days after the Season 8 midseason finale. Any similarities to that episode are pure coincidence. I wrote the chapter (You'll know which one) months before Season8 even started. For anyone that is newly following me or reading my books, I write differently than most.
