Avery has had a rough life. Parents are dead, ex-boyfriend is MIA, and dealing with the perils that come with being a shadowhunter only further upset her world. The only constant she has in her life is Alec. He's always there for her, even when she doesn't think she needs him.

Avery is doing a somewhat okay job of it, but when her past comes back to haunt her, everything is turned upside down.
