Mercedes Williams, a young high school girl that quite doesn't fit in school nor at home. She despite her age encounters a lot of hardship that is constantly knocking her down off her feet time and time again. She unexpectedly meets a upperclassman Brandon Campus that despite his reputation helps her along as a mentor or a friend as she faces life one step at a time. Over time they develop affectionate feelings for one another.
