Mercedes Williams, a young high school girl that quite doesn't fit in school nor at home. She despite her age encounters a lot of hardship that is constantly knocking her down off her feet time and time again. She unexpectedly meets a upperclassman Brandon Campus that despite his reputation helps her along as a mentor or a friend as she faces life one step at a time. Over time they develop affectionate feelings for one another. Though Brandon has difficulty accepting his emotions toward Mercedes do to her social status among the students during the start of school.
