"I can still see the old house too. But when I imagine it I see it from above, like a bird. Max is an orphan, living at a home called Sisters of the Cross, which has existed for hundreds of years as a refuge for abandoned girls. Nestled between mountains and a forest plantation, the only contact the girls have with the outside world is with two lumberjacks who live on the other side of the forest. This is the only home Max and her friends have known. But their world is shattered when they discover their home is built on the site of an ancient sacrificial ritual, which takes place every hundred years. Soon the girls find themselves the potential victims of an enemy within.
