Every year, there is held a 'Picking' in every village of the wonderful country called Treant. 
They pick two females; A woman and a Girl.
They also pick two males; A man and a boy.
Some people want to be picked, they've trained their whole lifes for that moment. 
Other people, mostly the poor, are terrified to be picked, because no one they knew who was picked ever came back alive and well... 
The people want equality, the people want justice... but you know?
Sometimes, the only thing you need to get the strength to carry on in this game, is a little love...

This is basically the idea of the Hunger Games but I changed a few things myself.

If only finding him in the land infested by monsters - and often by men and women not much better - were that easy. --- Winner of Horror category in The Flower's Awards 2018 --- Heavily inspired by Ravenloft books and the themes of Witcher 3 video game, so if you like either, at least give it a try. Feedback, both positive comments and constructive criticism, is very welcome. WARNING: I would not quite classify this as "mature adults only" - personally I read Ravenloft books in middle school -, but it does get pretty creepy at times. If creepy isn't your thing, you might want to wander elsewhere.
