A series of events have led the world to be swathed in smoke. The smoke, it turns out, can also be deadly. Simon and Baz test their relationships when Baz deals with depression. That one winter when my father brought someone from his work. He was wounded and my father wanted him to spend his holiday in the house because he doesn't want the man to go home limping, plus the snow's falling outside like crazy. The man was handsome and mature. And as days go by, I made friends of him until I grew a liking to him. I always knew I like men and I think I like him and it felt like he likes me too, but he needs to go home until his injury healed. But he promised me one thing. That he will come back for me and I'm willing to wait for him to come back every winter when the snow falls. Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Snowbaz
Eight weeks into their Eighth year, Baz finally arrives at school, ready to stun Snow with his arrival and then hopefully spend the rest of his school year hanging on to the edge of sanity as he only allows his desires the minor indulgence of watching his arch-nemesis (whom he's secretly in love with) as he unknowingly sleeps. Baz's plans are immediately put to a halt, however, once he returns to find that Simon Snow has been cursed, is chronically ill, and is due to die in less than a week. But breaking the curse is easy - all Baz has to do is admit that he loves the other boy more than anyone else ever will.
