Long ago, in Spinner's End, where my eyes begot a wondrous sight
A girl with hair like the embers within me , and a voice as calm as night
She and her sister were by a river, and I couldn't believe what I saw
The gift that she had demonstrated, it left my heart in awe
I approached her once her sister left, who was angry at this gift
It was clear to me that her damaged heart could use a subtle lift
I told her she was not alone, that I could do things too
It seemed to me that her and I could share a love so true
In time it came we got our letters, and boarded the Hogwarts Train
While we rode we met two boys, who would cause me so much pain
In the Great Hall where we were sorted, twas there we were made separate
For Lilly was named Gryffindor, and Slytherin was my template
James and Sirius marked me with their never ending hatred
So study, I did, in the Dark Arts, my lust could not be slated
Through the years, we grew apart, though you kept me in your heart
Until the day I used a word, that surely ought not be used or heard
You never forgave me from that point, though I swore I was sorry
All because I lashed out over James and my foolish quarry
After school, once I pledged my life to the cold Dark Lord
My heart still bled for you, my dear, though your origins are abhorred
I could never tell you how I felt, for you would hear not a hint
Of any remorse for my harsh statement, not one little bit
Time went by and my Dark Lord did bade me to pass information
My actions would change the pace of life for all throughout the nation
Until one night I overheard a prophecy foretelling
The ending of my Dark Lords reign, to which I felt compelling
I must inform my Lord of this information before it comes to pass
Little did I know, that I would mark the death of my sweet lass
There came a time where Albus told me what I did was wrong
That I'd been serving the misguided side all along
