This is a project I have in school for English class. I am to write a fictional piece with a minimum word count on 20 000 words. I need someone to help me proofread and give me tips to improve.

The year was 3010 A.C. when the world ended.
On a ridiculously huge spaceship plummeting through space and time a couple of youths have been placed and sent away to continue the human race on a less harmful environment that's not reeking of radioactivity from the sixth world war.
They were the few chosen ones, the exemplary candidates to create a new, perfected species. Unfortunately no one ever had the time to check their reactions to traumatic events, so as time passes they slowly descend into a messier situation.

Intrigued by the strange people from her new memories, she goes looking for them, only to find herself in the middle of an investigation of the absurd disappearance of an important woman. With her personality changing into her heart donor's, Alice navigates a mysterious world where nothing seems to make sense and yet everything is strangely connected.
