Sixteen year old Arcadia Martin has a brilliant mind, good looks, a strong personality, and many suitors...the full package. However, she's been rather unlucky in the dating realm. One of the only people who has stuck by her year after year is her best friend, Sebastian. This truth dawns on Arcadia, and she falls in love with him. She decides to tell him how she feels, thinking that he'd definitely like her back, but is surprised to find that she's been sister-zoned. But this is one roadblock she can't let go. After learning that his platonic feelings for her are merely by chance, and that he does find her physically and mentally attractive, she uses her sharp wits to devise a game plan, a manipulative strategy: to turn him around. She feels powerful and confident, but also guilty for somewhat toying with her best friend. In a series of diary entries leading up to May 20th, Arcadia unfolds her tale as it happens. Can she write the escape plan for all the "just friends" and "like a sister/brother to me" hopefuls out there? Will Arcadia win him over? Or will she be seduced into the lonely life of the heart-breaking siren? She has a deadline, and only time will tell the fate of her heart.
