Written in Blood . {After OoT/MM fic} Hyrule is on the brink of another bloody war when he returns, the hero that had slipped away to be forgotten by the land. After the events of Skyward Sword, Link discovers the demon lord, Ghirahim, still lives. He also learns that the new king of the demon realm wants to finish what Demise had started, and plunge the world into a demonic underworld. Link and Ghirahim must become allies and stop this new enemy from taking over. This fanfiction will be turning into a Ghiralink romance at some point later on. Keep that in mind while reading. Time has passed. Hyrule is getting rebuilt. Zelda on the other hand is not quite sure what to do. She is no longer a princess, She's a queen with responsibilities. A dark force is looming. Old friends are getting rediscovered but that boy. That man. Link. There's an unfinished story with him. This is my take on the universe. There will be new characters that aren't canon. There will be a few POV swaps but let's see if I can make this a cohesive story.

Link is still haunted by the past, still fearing his old foe Ghirahim. Even though the demon is dead... or is he? When a Goddess comes to Link with a request, he will be forced to cooperate with the demon while a new threat emerges that threatens not only the human realm, but the demon realm as well. Can he put his fears aside and take this final journey for the good of his world as well as others?

The goddesses have decided to mix it up. The pieces have found new homes and the new hero must work her way to defeat who she once knew as her hero. Ganondorf, whom they worked so hard to defeat, is supposed to be her close ally. As Zelda fights Link, she meets others who have inherited spirits through the cycles. Through her journey, she realizes she must learn to trust her new comrades in order to defeat Link. (This story is undergoing a rewrite. Uh... it's pretty rough to get through. Keeping it up because I don't like deleting history.)

Connected by a thread of fate, Ghirahim had said. Destined to fight. He wasn't entirely wrong. Six years after the eradication of Demise, that thread pulls Link and Ghirahim together once more, except now they must put their pasts behind them. Soon after this reunion Link is forced back into the role as the Goddess's chosen hero and protector, now with Ghirahim by his side. But, while Ghirahim is slowly dying and Zelda is dealing with her personal troubles, the world is slowly reaching its demise, and Link finds himself unsure if he can stop it.
