Stay Awake With Me

"D-Dean...?" I asked quietly, my voice hoarse. "Yeah, Cas?" Dean replied, holding my pale hand in his own. "We're gonna be okay, right?" I asked, my eyes closed. The lights hurt too much. They only caused my headache to progress. "I... I'll make sure you're okay." He responded, but I could hear the hesitation in his voice, even in my weakened state. I nodded slowly, my senses no longer being as strong as they had been. I tried to open my eyes, to see Dean's beautiful face one more time, but all I saw was black. Everything around me sounded as if I was under water. However, I could hear the faint sounds of sirens in the distance. I could feel Dean squeeze my hand lightly. And I could hear his voice. That voice; the one I fell in love with, "Cas? Cas, open your eyes, dammit! Stay awake with me!"
