From the Middle Ages to the Present, many a people know the stories of King Arthur, his Knights of the Round Table, the Kingdom of Camelot, and their legends of dames and beasts, with one of these stories explaining the origin of Arthur's confidence in The Sword in the Stone. Many historians and writers tell how the sword was pulled from the stone, but this time it's told through the eyes of the main character himself, Arthur.
Arthur (Wart) Pendragon lives an average life as a servant for the Castle of Sir Ector, the careless and prideful lord he, his friends, and his foster brother Kay work with. Through his early years, he has gotten along with Kay, spent many times at the lake with his best friend Gwen (Guinevere) Cadridge, and now Kay has been able to convince his father to allow Wart to be his squire for the New Year's Tournament coming up, since Wart has turned 12 recently.
But on one unexpected day, Wart runs into Merlin and his pet owl Archimedes, who plans to educate Wart for the future. As he begins to balance all these new issues around him, such as the education Merlin provides and Kay's tips on the upcoming Tournament, Wart soon questions where he really stands in the future, as well as where his friends will end up in the future as well.
