Nineteen year old Zaethiel follows a tried-and-true routine. Wake up before his brother can hog the bathroom (it takes effort to look this handsome every day), head over to his daily training with the Master Knights, flirt a little (or a lot) with the local maidens, and try not to start screaming from nightmares in the middle of the night. 

When Zaethiel and his brother, Astoerin, are selected to join a nonpareil group of knights to go after a bounty, he's ecstatic. And terrified. He hits the road with only one thought: revenge against the monsters that murdered his father. But when he trips over-literally-a small, enigmatic witch travelling with a demon of all things, his routine is thrown into chaos. And what happens when Astoerin begins to doubt the ideology that ruled over them for the past ten years?
