In a time where pirates sail the seas and treasure is desired by all, Percy Jackson wants nothing more than to follow his lost father's footsteps and become a captain; preferably, a captain of the British navy. But feeling an obligation to stay with his mother and new step father, Percy fears he may forever stuck on dry land. When disaster strikes, however, Percy's only chance to save his mother's life is to go against everything his late father told him and join a pirate crew in search for the Treasure of Zeus. He soon realizes his new shipmates are not the typical pirates: there's hardly a person on board above the age of eighteen, half the crew are female (even the captain is a woman!), and while they might be moral-less in their search for treasure, Percy ultimately finds himself torn between joining the jolly crew in friendship or staying loyal to his parents and solely seeking help for his mother. In the end, the choice may be decided for him as he battles sea monsters, gets caught in mutiny, maybe-but-definitely-not-really develops feelings for the captain, and all the while hunts for treasure and his own destiny.
