Nathan Tarlien lives in the same world as Zoe Lepresh. But unlike the majority of Lornia's citizens his age, he not only has not found his half- he refuses to. After he defies the Order and does away with waiting for his half, the Keepers give him the alias Halfsoul and condemn him as a wanted criminal- the first one to defy the Order in a century. Nathan struggles to provide for himself and for the only person left he cares about, to keep himself alive, and to keep himself from becoming the person Lornia seems to think he his. But as his path crosses with Zoe, his struggle increases, and their biggest battle begins.
