Riley paced the floor, running his hands repeatedly through his curly hair. Jason watched from the couch, the amusement obvious in his eyes.
“I’ve never seen you this worked up about a chick, man,” Jason commented, a slight grin on his face.
Riley practically growled in frustration. “You don’t understand. You haven’t found your mate yet, or else you wouldn’t be laughing,” he ground out, before sighing and plopping on the couch next to Jason.
“How can she not feel the bond?” Riley practically whispered, dejectedly.
“Dude, just move on. Get over her and move on,” Jason urged.
“It’s not that easy, Jase. I can’t just ‘move on’. She means more than anything to me now.”

Meet Elinor Monroe. Sassy, slightly crazy, and more than a little obsessed with Froot Loops, she is basically normal. Or so she thought. Moving across the country to Gresham, Oregon was more life changing than she ever imagined it would be. Everyone is way too beautiful, and it seems like the town has one giant secret, although she can’t figure out what it is.
It is there that she meets Riley Asher, a mysterious yet gorgeous athlete, who takes a sudden liking to her. Obviously she’s a little suspicious when the most popular guy, with more than a few secrets, makes her the object of his affections. Besides, she’s already met a guy who makes her feel secure, and doesn’t seem as bipolar with his decisions as Riley does, even if he’s not nearly as exciting.
Ellie just wanted to find a place in the new school. She never planned on having all this drama and secrecy to deal with.
