*LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME FAN FICTION* Long before the Hero of Time, legend spoke of a man who could see the truth. They say his house was in Kakariko Village where a mysterious well now sits; a well hiding a terrible secret at it's bottom that the Royal Family of Hyrule would sooner like to forget. A secret bathed in blood, lies and the cold hands of death. Or so the Legend says. But here's what the Legend didn't tell you about this strange figure; about how he learned to see the truth, the horrific price he paid for this power, and the terrible fate he met with in the end. **PREQUEL STORY FOR FANS OF THE GAME** *Multimedia includes the soundtrack from the game so you can listen to the music of Zelda while you read.* Many of the details are Zelda cannon, while others are my own creative liberties. Please enjoy spotting all the subtle and not so subtle references to the masterpiece video game we all know and love. This is my first attempt at fan fiction, and it's amazingly fun! I hope you enjoy reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thanks for reading!

He stopped in his tracks. Something was approaching. He pressed himself against the Kakariko cliffs nearest the graveside, not moving until long after the steps were gone. A holy light shone from within the graveyard, and a young woman laid sobbing in its stones. When his eyes met her, he could have sworn she'd taken his life for her littlest. ~~ He stood on the edge, glancing towards the castle his father had once been honored at. He looked just like him. He didn't think he'd ever be able to return to his birthplace. But that was fine. Mom probably can't either. ~~ It's been many years now. Everyone who was there is no longer here. It's impossible to move on, but there isn't even a fragment of the past left. She's been told never to head there, but she saddles her horse. ~~ The Calamity took thousands of lives, but it left behind thousands of others. A sister, a wife, a best friend, a son. They move away from each other, and some move from the places they were, all for closure and to remember without the pain. Over one hundred years does history fade to legend, but the faithful continue to tell the legends, not just of one hundred years ago, but of all the stories from it.
