Memories can be tricky, and there isn't quite enough known about the human mind to actually understand the concept of amnesia and how to reverse the effects, so for a survivalist, a class of explorer with a normally flawless memory, a head wound that wipes out nearly every memory of the past he has can be considered a bit more than simple inconvenience. Sage is the sole survivor of a mysterious attack on an unknown guild that was all but eradicated while exploring the Labyrinth, on the first floor no less. There are no leads on how it happened, no remains to take back, not even names or faces to remember, as Sage has forgotten basically everything from his past.
