As the female population starts to grow again, it is decided that they will be sold into packs so the pack's males can take their claim. 

Claire was taken from her hiding place by these men, and sold to the Moon Glade pack, the most powerful and dominating pack led by the Alpha King. 

The King was enraptured by her beauty, but quickly discovered she had more than just a pleasing face.
