The story follows multiple survivors - ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, each trying to stay alive in a world going to hell. We meet a hardened "shotgun fellow" whose past haunts him, a crewman uneasy in this new reality, and numerous others trying to adapt to chaos. As society crumbles, the infected - referred to as "turned" - become relentless predators, and survival becomes a matter of constant flight, distrust, and brutal choices. The narrative explores not just the threat of the virus, but the human cost: betrayal, the breakdown of community, and how people react when the rules no longer apply. Eventually, a powerful corporation called the Revert Corporation takes the blame for the outbreak. A "cure" emerges, but only after waves of death and suffering. ~Thank you for the continued love for this series! I was 13 when I began this book, and am now taking the time to go back to completely rewrite it, and maybe just publish someday~ I'm 15 and my name is Astrix. Let's start with that. That seems like an easy thing to start with. Now, let me add in some other details. I live in a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, that's about as enjoyable as I can make it seem. Now let me add in something else. I'm wanted by the CIA for reasons that I don't even know, but I guess I will find out eventually. Maybe somewhere within my story I will figure it out. I'm well known as The Bad Ass for reasons that are kind of obvious once you meet me. Maybe that's why they're after me? Because I'm a Bad Ass? Nope, I doubt that. He is at least somewhat aware of us, the reader, and acknowledges us often, that's why he takes explains things with oddly, making a comment or two about how he should've known you wouldn't know that thing. Idk I thought it'd be interesting. And by interesting I mean a chance to absolutely horrify you and gouge your heart out :DDD! But yeah I hope y'all enjoy, best of luck.

Prices of everyday necessities, from food to gas, from toilet paper to healthcare, have more than doubled. The global population now peaking near 8.5 billion. It was now considered a virtue to be hospitalized, so long as you could pay the lifelong medication payments and stay sick. Just as it seemed society was ready to kick the bucket, something viral and deadly beat it to the punch. As the people he knew turned into sick, plagued creatures of death and his world crumbles down around him, Jacob Mason must leave his life as a quiet, middle school student behind and forge ahead a new life to protect the people he loves. But this is all just the beginning of a brand new, blood splattered life for him.

Besides, battling Bella in the game of wits and pranks has been far more fun than they'll ever let her know. After a year, they still have not come to terms with the fact that she's there to stay. When one normal seeming weekend, begins to slide downhill at a rapid pace, Bella's rocky, mysterious past begins to haunt her, and the rest of her town. Will the Sweenys and the Harkens finally rebuild the bridge that had been torn down in an equally as mysterious strife, or will they revert back to the hatred and loathing they've known for so long? How will one weekend change the lives of these average teenagers forever? *~*~* A/N: I wrote this story as a challenge for myself in December of 2011, I wanted to complete it before the new year.
