City of Gold

Sophie Goldrose is dreading leaving her family to spend a year at the Toronto Institute. She hates the fact that she won't be seeing her family for that length of time, won't be able to feel their reassurance at her side all the time.

Jess Bane misses her brother. She doesn't want to go on a family holiday without him, and will do anything she can to get out of it. Even if Toronto does sound like a magical place - not literally - it will not be the same without the supportive guide of her older brother, Rafe.

They both end up in the same place, and both exist as part of the Shadow World. A strange friendship ensues, and suddenly, a new mystery blooms which the two, along with a few other friends, attempt to solve.
