This story is my take on episode 455 of Naruto Shippuden. I was really disappointed because Izumi's death was changed from the original shinden plot. So I just added on a bit to what went down after Tobi presumably killed her.

Love in the Shadow
He was changing. Naruto's personality had been in a downward spiral since his mission to the Land of Waves. It was subtle at first, but now Minato doesn't even recognize his son after seven years. Hell, he barely even sees his son. After he transferred to the ANBU, Naruto rarely ever came home, and even when he did, he was cold, distant, and angry. His mission reports had become increasingly concerning. Naruto's new apathetic attitude toward his team, friends, sensei, and even his father worried the Hokage more than anything. An emotionless Shinobi was never a good thing, and it was even worse for a Jinchuuriki. Itachi Uchiha was the only thing that seemed to help for a while, but it was false hope. When Minato learns that Naruto was the sole perpetrator of an attempted fratricide incident during a crucial mission in Iwa, he is forced to confront the issue. But at this point, Minato is certain that his son might be too far gone to be saved.

Life was supposed to be different.....but the moment I was faced with reality, I gave up and ran. I ran from the looks, and stares of being a failure. All the desires and dreams I wanted was something so far from my reach now. So I distracted myself from the daily routines I used to do with work of a shinobi life....I didn't expect to have my life change so much when I met him. Hyuga Hinata was a peaceful, kind young lady. She thought if she stayed true to herself, she would get the life she wanted. That life mainly consisted of Uzumaki Naruto, but she was faced with conflict. When Hanabi was kidnapped, and they went to get her back she didn't expect Naruto to be more distant than ever. He could barely stand next to her, and she blamed herself for it. She thought she was the problem but when she found out the real reason her love for Naruto turned to pure hatred. What will happen when hinata isn't the same as anyone remembers, as he remembers. He barely knew her but wanted to after finding interest in her. !Warning!⚠️ I will be doing edits while posting so if it looks different, it's because I'm changing the format. There will be talk and actions of suicide, sexual encounters and other sensitive topics. If any of this is to much for you, then it is probably wise to choose a different book. I am very excited to share this hard work with you. Let me explain the rules of this Kimetsu No Yaiba AU. So in this AU, everything is different. Basically, I rid the entire AU of the antagonists. No uppers, no lowers, I even removed Muzan. But don't be worried. I might make nods to them. They just won't show up in this. In fact, the only non-human in this AU will be Nezuko(If you hate that, then you can always leave). Speaking of Nezuko, I made changes to her to. This entire season is written in her POV. She can speak because she doesn't wear the bamboo muzzle alot in this AU, but she does wear it as a necklace. She kind, gentle and funny with a hint of a little sassy. And she'll be responsible for most of the ships made in the Festive Four/Five(That's my group name for the main characters. If you like Kamaboko Sqaud better, that's okay. Just don't judge me for it). Ah, yes, the ships. There's Kananjiro(Or, Takana. Its fine. Also, Kanao x Tanjiro), Zenzuko(Zenitsu x Nezuko), Inoaoi(There's probably a better name. Inosuke x Aoi), and I don't know, Giyushino(Giyu x Shinobu. Probably not). And guess what, I might do a crossover with My Hero Acadamia in this AU. Also, some side-chapters to introduce the school AU. *Beware the mysterious round gate in the forest* However, this AU might take a sad turn only once a while, but I assure you, there will always be a good thing following after the bad thing.
