Was this truly the last RESET? Sans wondered. But he knew only Frisk would tell, only this young girl would decide his future. He hated the thought of it at first, but hatred began to grow numb after he figured out he had no say in his own future. The Gods live among themselves in a separate realm from the land of the mortals. Keeping the balance maintained was their only job, as the hierarchy of power, though few knew who they actually were. With the disappearance of Life, a great power vacuum had been opened, and Death was the main target, holding the great power surge. Life had chosen a successor beforehand, however, she had chosen only the most dangerous of beings. A human. Now with the Gods on Death's tail, he must protect this human from both her own society and her society-to-be, as he await fro Life's powers to awaken gradually. He cannot under any circumstances let them burst, or the human will be killed, along with Life's power and the balance. But most importantly, Death cannot get attached, or she will be killed for sure.

The Tragedy of DUSTSHIFT - A Storyshift Take by thech1knlord

A fine retreading of the UNDERTALE AU "Storyshift" created by VoltraTheSparking, DUSTSHIFT's tragedy pits a distorted, gaslit version of the Underground, spearheaded by the incompetent ruler of the monarchy, SANS. This society would gradually be challenged by the Solar Warriors, a rebellion that directly opposed his rule, sparked by tensions risen by the difference between SANS's mundane autocracy and his father GASTER II's militaristic dictatorship. {NOTICE: Please be mindful that this take contains visceral descriptions of violence & gore, domestic violence, and child abuse.} However, all of this would skyrocket thanks to the sudden introduction of one human child named Chara to the monster society. An outlier amidst the many fallen humans, she was allowed to live her fullest life in spite of SANS's various promises to his people to shatter the barrier which held the entire species in submission, a grand conspiracy. This would all culminate in one human's intrusion into the world of monsterkind known only by their stage name Shifty. Supervised by GASTER II's bygone machine celebrity METTA, they would embark on a relentless spree across the kingdom, slaughtering hundreds of innocents in their path for the sake of dramatic flair. Chara must now overcome her own deep-rooted demons and evade the ruthless Solar Warriors in order to become the western hero she always imagined herself as, protecting both her loved ones and the broader monster kingdom from the tyranny that METTA has rebirthed to bestow.
