Dan wanted to go to a new cafe down the street with Phil knowing there was only an estimated one month till evacuation procedures happen, for the bombing.
Phil wanting to make Dan happy agrees to go to the cafe, the bombs weren't supposed to go off for awhile, they were wrong.
Dan made it out easily and took a breath realizing he was missing something, someone... Phil, he let go of Dan's hand.
