Fantasy, adventure. Ferrian has been running his whole life. Running, because he has no choice. Wherever he goes, Winter follows. Staying in one place too long causes the weather to deteriorate, becoming ever colder and bringing snow, ice and devastating storms.

Only someone with knowledge of magic might be able to help Ferrian overcome such a terrible curse, but sorcerers are nearly extinct in the world. Magic is feared and not tolerated in the Outlands. Only two brothers remain, waging a private and very personal war in a secluded valley. Ferrian must ally himself with the local law enforcers, known as the Freeroamers, and set out on an adventure-filled quest if he is to have any chance of finding them.

Just another generic story about some high schooler with powers being the chosen one and saving the world. Okay, maybe not the entire world. But our protagonist here may end up saving her country plus the spirit realm from a power-hungry goddess... or she may not. So we have a country, Cloudgate, which I accidentally named after a giant bean in Chicago. (Look it up, guys) Then we have auras, which are these magical power source thingies from the heavens, or should I say the Realm of Spirits, which give the people of Cloudgate supernatural abilities. Except the auras are actually cursed, which messes with the human's powers, and now auras have become synonymous with curses and aura-having humans face heavy persecution. Skye Everson, the afformented chosen one protagonist, is one of these aura-havers, and she has ice powers. For a long time, she had idolized mages and wanted to hone her skills so she could become a mage herself. The problem? Aura magic is no longer legal. Fortunately for Skye, she gets kidnapped by a secret society that trains mages illegally, and may now have a chance to live out her dreams as an ice mage. But becoming a practiced magic user in this day and age may not be all its cracked up to be... (Age rating: 13+)

So it is still really fricken cold, all the time. It has been so long that many younger people don't remember what summer is even like, they don't know any different. It has been so long that maybe the curse can never be broken. After all, such things only happen in fairytales. I curse this land with ice and snow, A curse of misery, a curse of woe. Kara and her freinds now must find out how to survive in a land where little is what it seems and a villain can be made of a hero or a hero made of a villian. Atop all this sits Fate, pulling strings to make her puppets jump and keep things intresting, because she has always loved a good show. Until the show started to change, when one little girl in particular wants things to change, because if leaving means Death, well Fate has another thing coming, a new Queen is coming.
