Over small and brief, yet important and revealing moments of time between January of 2015 to around September of the same year, I wrote works that pertained to the Guatemalan genocide and atrocities. Over that time period of creative and political insight, I either reworked, rewrote, or just completely scrapped some pieces of thoughts.. I hope that these can amount to anything. My mother is Guatemalan and she's rarely spoken of these events. While statistics say a certain number of these atrocities took place between the 60s and culminating in the 80s, the country of Guatemala may have experienced much more death tolls than originally thought. I can only pray and hope that one day the victims will be at peace when they find the remains of their lost loved ones, when the recommendations suggested the United Nations will be finally (and completely) heeded, and when justice will finally be served to those who exercise the atrocities and horrors that faced and continue to face the Guatemalan peoples, the citizens of Latin America, and ultimately, humankind. Please enjoy and remain insightful.
