Underlust: Papyton - His Prince
In Underlust, where almost every monster is hypersexual due to being injected with lust in order to increase the monster population, Mettaton is an outsider. As a ghost, he was not injected with the lust substance, and as a result, he is completely different from everyone else in the Underground. He feels out of place as an anxious bookworm who has little interest in sex and is losing hope because his quiz show is unsuccessful. But Mettaton might not be as alone as he thinks. A certain skeleton loves Mettaton's show and wonders if anyone in the Underground shares his rare capacity to prioritize love over sex. UNDERLUST DISCLAIMER: I think it's important to acknowledge that there are some problematic things about Underlust and that I absolutely do not condone those aspects of the AU. However, Mettaton's story in Underlust is important to me, so any senseless hatred of him or of the AU is not appreciated. He had his optimistic, egotistical brother, Papyrus, his mysterious friend in the RUINs, Grillby, the bartender at his favorite place to stay, and many other buddies and acquaintances he'd made over time. But one day, when the friend from the RUINs makes a strange request of Sans, he couldn't help but give her his word and make a promise. However... When he sees the subject of his promise exit the RUINs- A strange, wayward, dust-covered human- Sans questioned whether he'd be able to stay true to his word. (Feel free to leave suggestions for other stories you'd like me to write in the comments! None of the art featured here is mine.) UPDATE: Uh, so, my headcanons have changed quite a bit from when I wrote this, including Sans' attitude at some points, the Mettaton NEO situation, the Alphys evacuation, and other things.
