Already partly into his seventh year, Dan still doesn't agree with his house. He doesn't get along with the other Slytherins. His fellow Slytherins treat him like an outsider and the students in the other houses shun him because of his house.
Phil is tired of waiting for his "someone special" to make an appearance and being treated like a child because he was sorted into the "soft" house.
