It is the year 2856 and Aspen is a part of the Undergrounders, a portion of some of the surviving humans from an alien attack more than 85 years ago. The aliens overtook the surface, forcing the humans to divide in half, creating two areas of living: Underground and the Sky Cities. Now, Aspen's main problem is having to choose between her long time best friend Wesley and the mysterious new boy Hunter, who seemingly appeared out of no where. But if Hunter isn't from the Sky Cities, where is he from?

"I walked over to where Aaron was sitting on the ground, kneeling so that I was face-to-face with him. He was wearing a blank expression on his face so I guess he didn't really care if I kissed him or not. I took in a deep breath before taking his face in both of my hands and swooping down to kiss him. At first, I was so nervous I didn't realize that we were already kissing but after a few moments, I realized how soft his lips felt on my own. Before I can register it I felt him moving against me. They sick up for each other and do fun things together. He loves his dad and doesn't see the wrong in most things. One day Caleb tells Ella that Bradley and him are going on a trip with their dad and that she should go. She said yes, of course. Little did she know, what started out the shooting lessons in the middle of the woods would turn into their worst nightmare.
