Aliyah "Leah", has many friends, being smart, pretty, and outgoing.

Aliyah was a Muslim, but she wasn't a proud one. She tried so hard to hide her culture and heritage from her peers. But as each day ended, Aliyah was reminded that she too, like her older sister, had to wear the hijab, or headscarf. She was frightened that her friends would hate her, think she is ugly, and that she would be left all alone.

A lifechanging experience focuses Aliyah on what really is important, and she decides to start wearing the traditional headscarf.
