"So what are we doing standing in this downpour, besides increasing our chances of developing hypothermia?" he asked, a glint of humor in his deep brown eyes.

"We're standing." I answered flatly.

"Wow, good observation Sherlock, I meant why did you suddenly dash out into your backyard only to stand in the rain doing positively nothing?" he shot back.

I smirked slightly at him. He always was the joker. "Doing nothing is good for you, maybe you can try it sometime."

He rolled his eyes. "Ah, but if you did nothing all the time you would miss your whole life!"

My lips quirked up without my permission. "Maybe, but right now I'm feeling like my life is worth missing."

He turned to me, his eyes a chocolate storm of emotions. "Amy, you know that's not true."

Tears filled my dull grey eyes "Do I? Because it just seems like everything is falling apart and I-" I broke off as sobs racked my body. I sunk to the ground, clutching my frail frame.

He silently came over and wrapped me in his warm, albeit soaking wet, arms. We sat there for what seemed like an eternity. Just me and my best friend.
