Someone has tried to kill the mayor. The criminal has not been uncovered yet, but now Mr. Mayor is standing at a podium before the whole town, and I am behind him, as I am what you might call the “vice mayor.” For whatever reason, I look behind me and see a boy, maybe eight years old. And suddenly, I know in my head that he, a little boy, about eight, is the one who tried to assassinate the mayor. But then, he runs away, probably back to some other scheme in the making.
