Melody is a quiet high school freshman, lost in the rhythm of her own thoughts. She finds comfort in her routine, carefully avoiding the spotlight. But her silence isn't just a part of her personality-it's a shield. A secret hangs over her head, a heavy weight wielded by someone who knows just how to use it against her.
When Dylan, a musically talented senior, notices Melody, he's captivated by her eyes speaking louder than her mysterious nature. He tries to get to know her, to break through the wall she's built, but Melody keeps him at arm's length. She's not ready to let anyone in, especially not someone who is more or less a stranger. Dylan's persistence puts him on a difficult path, and he may just fail in his pursuit.
At the same time, Melody finds herself growing closer to Alan, a fellow freshman who shares her love for love for music and deep conversations. Their friendship deepens as they navigate the confusing world of high school together, but Melody's secret threatens to unravel everything she's carefully built. With Dylan still trying to reach her and Alan getting closer than anyone ever has, Melody has to decide if she's strong enough to face her secret or if she'll let it keep her in the shadows forever.

Side note: never fall for your fake boyfriend. When my best friend convinced me to write a love letter to my crush, I didn't expect it to all go south. Because instead of the most realistic scenario-him reading the letter and rejecting me privately-the last thing I'd ever expected to happen did. The letter doesn't end up in his locker. But in the locker of one of the most popular football players in the senior class, Ian Bale. Who also just happens to be my crush's older brother. Luckily, he promises to keep it a secret. But our actions start spreading rumors about us and in the next minute, I'm thrown into a fake relationship. But it works out for the both of us. Ian saves me from potential embarrassment while I help get his friends off his back about his dating life (or lack thereof). However, as the month progresses, I find myself enjoying more and more of his company. From his cheesy pick-up lines to his sense of wonder and even his nerdy glasses. My priorities begin to shift and I can't help but be a little terrified of the prospect of trusting another guy again. But I think I can make an exception. Once he turns 18, he'll be a legal adult and nobody will be able to separate him from his grandfather. He just has to hold out one more year. But it isn't easy. Everyone needs friends, and now this Anne girl has singled him out. Part of him aches for human contact, and he's not immune to her quirky sense of humor, but she might be totally insane. She's practically stalking him, and if he befriends her, she might find out about his grandfather and ruin his plan. But what if he just wrote her back?
