In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. The Silent Princess
Zelda and Link have finally reunited after the Calamity, and there's a lot to do to restore Hyrlue to its former glory. On their adventures together, Link and Zelda get closer than they ever were before. Could this finally be the Zelink we've all been waiting for? So we all want Zelink to happen, don't we, so I made this short story just as a substitute until it really happens (probably never). The Twilight Veil (Link X Reader)
"Where did you come from?" Ilia asked and that's when everything stopped. Where did I come from? I tried to remember, I thought really hard but all I could say was, "I came from a place where no mortal should ever come from if they dare keep their head." The words tumbled from my mouth before I could stop them. I slapped a hand over my mouth, scared I would say more I didn't understand. Why would I say that? (Y/n) had awoke inside of a strange house, surrounded by strange kids. The only issue with that logic, she has no memory. Nothing to trigger why the young man Link and the group of children would be so kind to a stranger. It dawns on her that she needs to find out who she is again. However a darkness is brewing, and Link has a destiny to follow. The strings of fate tangle between the young duo, and (Y/n) makes a decision to help save Hyrule from the darkness. With nothing more than a brave face and an emerald pendant tying her back home, she sets out with Link. They also fall under the service of an imp itching for revenge. However, there is one person standing in the way of (Y/n) getting home. Her best friend, the Usurper King, Zant. He has made it his life goal to protect (Y/n) from himself and place a veil over her eyes to keep her from seeing his wrongs. Her wrath would for sure be the end of his evil plans.
