Ben is a lonely orphan being adopted by a family in America. However, along the way he and his new brother James magically disappear and reappear in a country controlled by a power-hungry egomaniac. When a wizard finds them, hope is giving to the opposition and the brothers are thrown into a mission to locate and steal an object that will turn the tide in favor of the Rebellion. Following months of tramping through cold and rain, saving each other from various scoundrels, and starving together, Ben discovers that his brother is a traitor, forcing him to reexamine his feelings, beliefs, and trusts.
Sam’s aunt has barely been dead for an hour before the cops are banging down his door, informing him that he is under arrest for burglary and robbery in multiple states. He promptly escapes, but is kidnapped by bandits. Upon escape, Sam meets a couple of crazy grown-ups claiming to be his parents and professing a desire to help him, yet they hand him over to the police. Facing years in prison, the independent youngster must learn to open his heart to love and acceptance… before he loses everything.
