"We're here." Katanna says. Judith takes a look around, it didn't seem like anything special to her, it was just a forest. She waited for Katanna to speak, the only sound was the birds chirping and the extreme wind blowing. After a moment of no speaking Judith thought that maybe she was supposed to figure out why they are there herself, she looked around at all the moss covered trees, then at the ground, leaves and sticks covered everything, it was just a regular forest, what was so important about that? Judith thought. "Okay, why are we here?" Judith finally asked Katanna, looking at the ground then picking up a rock doesn't bother looking at Judith while speaking, "I had to show you something." She says. "Okay? What is it?" Judith said now getting inpatient "Could you throw this rock that way?" Katanna says nodding to the woods in front of them while handing Judith the rock. "Why?" Judith asks. "You want to go home don't you?" Katanna says. Judith looks down at the rock then back at Katanna in a confused look. "Fine." She grabs the rock and gets in position to throw it, a gush of wind almost blows them over. "Why is this important? Let's just go back to my house Kat-" "Just do it." Katanna interrupts in a harsh tone. "Fine." Judith says she arches her arm back with rock in hand and as hard as she could throws it forward. Her eyes watch the rock speed threw the air, expecting it to just land on the forest floor. But that didn't happen, the rock slams against the air then rockets back landing in front of Judith. She looks up to see a force field type border in front of her waving back and forth from the impact, "What the hell?" Judith whispers. She walks up to the now invisible wall knocking on it. "Judith, the world you live in isn't what you think it is." Katanna says Judith looks back at her terrified, "What do you mean?" "This isn't real." Katanna says. "What do you mean this isn't real?" "I mean your're not in the real world, you're in a dream like state."

Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. And then one night while heading to go get her friend she's taken and thrown into a world she didn't know existed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Remi?" Jen says suddenly. "Hmm?" I hum back. "Do you ever wish you could just live in the forest? Away from everyone and everything?" She looks at me. "Free." We stare at each other for a long time. I see the real meaning in Jen's eyes. Her worries for going home to her overly strict parents. Her fears for the future and the unknown in general. "If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny. "I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?" "Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.
