16 year old Kaylee is moving back home. She should be excited, happy about seeing something of the norm but she's the complete opposite. Her childhood bestfriend, Toby, is the reason behind her distress. As a child, they always promised each other that they would be friends forever, never apart. But she couldn't bear the thought of hearing his voice through a phone and not bieng able to see his face, so her only other choice was to cut off all ties from him, break that string of gravity that held them together.
Moving back she hopes to rekindle that relationship, sever those ties, but she soon learns that Toby isn't the same little boy she left behind. He's bitter, a notorious player, and has eyes that are empty of emotion.
