The title of my book, "Follow in the Tigerman's Footsteps," sub- titled "The Adventurous Life of an Expat," comes from my love of tigers that like me love to roam far and wide. It reads more like an adventure story than a memoir and covers a working life most only dream about. I started to write my memoir, as a way of showing my two daughters and grand children what kind of life I enjoyed. However, the more I wrote; I decided it would make an interesting read for others. As a qualified joiner/shopfitter, I worked on fitting out shops, banks and offices all over England, as well as a few projects in Scotland. As a Sagittarian I have travel in my blood, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would end up experiencing travel and working in so many different countries. Readers will see that there is more to life than a boring 9-5 job, with the whole world waiting for you to experience life in a country other than your own.

Matilda Huston is a 25 years old woman with a painful past, living alone and escaping from her abusive past. She moved to Canada a few months back and got a job at a multinational company. She was living a peaceful life till she met her new boss Easton Fanaggaen who made her life ups and down through his bullying. Little did he knows, they shared a moment long ago when she was in her college years and he remembers that. Easton Fanaggaen is a 27 years old hot billionaire and the CEO of Fanaggaen&Co whose business chains are spread throughout the world. He is handsome, hot sexy, tall, and rich, everything a girl wants. He does not believe in love and he just had those typical one-night stands. His belief is proved wrong when he saw Matilda for the first time and is smitten by her. He asks her to be his forge fiancée to run away from the marriage his parents have framed for him. ************ "I will," she said in a dark tone. "Okay let's talk tomorrow, my desperate arrogant boss must have sent me more work through email and I am in the middle of the street so I have to go," she said while rolling her eyes. She was standing in front of the bridge. She hung up the phone and turned around. The horror was standing alive and well in front of her. Her breath stopped and her very own voice was surrounding her head. "Desperate, arrogant" She felt her head spinning around. He was staring at her expressionlessly. He walked slowly towards her while she walked backward. "Desperate? Arrogant? Am I?" he said in a very deep voice. She felt her voice had gone to hell. She was trying to speak but no sound, just words. "I think you have not seen how desperate I can be" he brought his lips near to her ear and said in a whisper. He grabs her and put her on his shoulder. She felt his shoulder blades pinned hardly on her left rib. Warning: The spelling and grammar are bad but I'll try to edit it once the book is completed. My name is Dan Barns, I was in the army for four years, worked in the private sector for five years with a six figure salary and was bored out of my mine. I grew a great nest egg, but I was not cut out to wear a suit and tie and then attend meetings everyday. I wanted so much more. I am six foot even, and I weigh around 186 on a bad day. My hair is brown with natural black streaks, and I have a nice tan. I love the great outdoors. I grew up as a single kid with a single parent who worked all the time. I aced science every time and fixed things for my mother and myself because of a lack of money. I never knew my dad, but once a year, my mother would get a check for my upkeep. My dad was a well traveled man and never stuck around after mom had me. Things were tough, but we made it. I got scholarships for my doctorate in both fields. I graduated as a doctor in six years. Problem that shaped me into the man I am today was, my mom died when I was 16 and I deicide to test out of school, joined the military, spent four years as special operative, and into college as an adult, I tested out of some of the easier classes. I kept the house because it was paid for and was in mine and my mother's name. I kept her truck, because it was also paid for and it helped when I need to remember her. I was twenty seven when I walked across the stage for my diploma and was sought after by some very big companies. I worked for one of these companies for five years and then I was bored. I retired at thirty one. I laid low, putting around my house, helping my neighbors, and helping out at the boys and girls club coaching basketball. For two years, I stayed in my own little piece of the gulf. I did not spend a lot of money, I fixed things, sold electric back to the electric company, and had fun with the teens. With the history now told, we can begin with some of my adventures.
My Backpacking Memoirs by AtomicJoe
38 parts Complete
In 2017 I embarked on a three month backpacking trip around Europe. Motivated by the many accounts of travel from within religion, I went to learn. But what I experienced was not what I was expecting. This was my first time leaving the UK since I was a child and my expectations of travel and Europe were wildly out of touch. I met more people in these three months than I had in the previous ten years and had many new experiences. I was naive and many of the people I met on my travels could tell just how naive I was. Overland by bus, train and ferry through 17 countries: England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Switzerland. To 35 locations: Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Prague, Krakow, Brno, Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest, Timisoara, Sibiu, Brasov, Bucharest, Sofia, Thessaloniki, Litochoro, Athens, Delphi, Naples, Rome, Venice, Milan and Lugano. It is an account of backpacking around Europe, both the best and worst of European backpacking hostels. Long bus journeys, hitch hiking and plenty of walking. I'm not proud of my behaviour or the events surrounding this three month period of my life, but I am proud to have forced myself to do it. I hope that my story will reach people who are in similar positions to what I found myself and to plant the seed of travel as a solution to those problems. Sometimes running away is the solution. It has also been several years since my backpacking trip and I find myself constantly trying to piece my memories together. Not always knowing what city or even country a memory occurred. I feel like my memories are deteriorating so I decided to document them before fall apart completely. I'm not a writer at all and I have tried to be as honest as possible, to my own downfall. I'm open to any advice about how I can improve it.

Reborn in the 1980s: I became a stepmother in the 1980s by TiggerBrian
200 parts Ongoing
Once she opened her eyes, Si Nian became the fake wealthy daughter straight out of a period drama, only to be sent back to the countryside to marry a divorced man in place of the real wealthy daughter, and on top of that, she had to raise a bunch of brats. Not only that, she also ran into the reincarnated real wealthy daughter. In her previous life, Lin Si Si was pressured by her family to marry an older divorced man who treated her coldly and indifferently. Meanwhile, Si Nian, who stole her wealthy daughter status, married a military officer and lived a sweet and happy life. In her second chance at life, she was determined to steal Si Nian's military officer husband and make her taste the bitterness she had endured. But the real wealthy daughter's plans didn't go as expected. Instead, Si Nian stayed by the side of the older man, amassed a fortune of billions, and her children flourished. When she was brought before the older man, Si Nian was not at all flustered: "This is the man who would rather help others raise children and adamantly refuses to have his own." While others avoided him, Si Nian's eyes lit up: "Firstly, being a mother is a noble act, and secondly, I will be a great stepmother." Years later, after the real wealthy daughter dealt with the military officer's illegitimate child and was robbed of her inheritance, she found herself in unbearable misery. She thought to herself, even if it's not ideal, it's still better than how Si Nian is living. Having children or not, raising others' children - what's the difference from being a nanny? But one day, that terrifyingly cold and fierce wealthy man, who was now tenderly supporting the pregnant Si Nian out of the car, cradled her in his hands with such affection that it was beyond measure. Si Nian angrily pulled the man's hair, "Didn't you say you didn't want children!" The older man gently kissed her hand, "Wife, I was wrong. I'll consider having one next time."

Cat Stories Series 1: PurrBox's Home Book 1

12 parts Complete

Ok. Let's face it, these books are way too short. So, this series will NOT be deleted but will go through heavy editing and be reposted as different books. The rewritten and original stories can (and will) be found on my profile in my reading list "Cat Stories Series 1: PurrBox's Home". A bunch series of books based on the twenty-one cats I've had in my life (No, I'm not making twenty-one different series- actually...). Some of the cats in these books have different names (not saying which ones are the real names). Most of them are if my cats were in the wild/became feral cats because domestic cats are, let's face it, a little boring to write about. PurrBox is a former housecat. He loved his family but ever since he met the other feral cats he's put his past behind him. But when he starts going into the forest, he meets more cats that live there and his group grows bigger. When another group of cats comes to chase them out of their home they have to fight against them. But... they have twice as many cats as PurrBox's group. So what do they do? Started: Oct. 11, 2023 Finished: Oct. 18, 2023 Edited: Finished as of March 23, 2023, I mean, 2024
