In a small town of Joutry, a depressed shut-in named Darren who lives off his deceased grandmother's will-money resides. For the first time in months, Darren decides to leave his house and see if the outside world is worth re-entering. Later that evening, he returns home dismayed only to find there is a girl sitting in his room shuffling his CDs. Before he knows it, Darren is whisked into a world of planets, aliens, robots, and more - a world he thought only existed in science fiction movies and comics. Throughout his journey, Darren is faced with making risks, falling in love, and discovering who he really is.
  
This is simply the story of a boy who believes that the world has done nothing but let him down, and the girl without emotions who changes his life.
