"Stopping Time" is a fanfiction I've been meaning to write for a long time now. Ever since the first Mystery Skulls Animated video came out, I had this idea just stuck in my head. What if things turned out somewhat different than what other fanfiction writers are making it out as? And now that the second video of MysteryBen27's Mystery Skulls Animated - Freaking Out has come out, I have the insperation to write it.
Recently, about a week ago, Artsyfeathersartsyblog, a fellow animator and creator of Mystery Skulls, answered my slight "rant" about how Mystery and how underrated he is. My words went as followed:
"Hello! I'm here to kind of rant? Mystery doesn't get enough love. Not that i'm saying the other characters don't deserve the love, but, I think Mystery deserves as much love as the others. To me, it seems like Mystery is so, underrated. You see fanfictions and comics all the time about Vivi's interaction with Lewis, or Arthur's interaction with Lewis, but you never see Mystery. Well, you see him, but you know what I mean. I just keep thinking about how Mystery is the one that suffered the most."
This story is slightly based off of my rant. And this is why I believe my story/script differs from others... because the story is based on MYSTERY. Not Lewis, Arthur, or Vivi. (Of course, they do play an important part, however, Mystery is the main focus.) The conflict revolves around him, instead of Arthur, or Lewis, as so many comics and fanfictions have done. Because, as I said, Mystery isn't just some heartless Kitsune in disguise. What is his reasoning for being with them? His past? His thoughts on watching his family fall apart, and die? That's what I want to focus on. On trying to answer these questions... but that's enough from me. I hope you enjoy, "Stopping Time".

Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. The Quarter is quiet. Marcellus controls the vampires. The wolves live like outcasts in the Bayou. The Witches have a rocky peace with the vampires. The Mikaelsons raise Hope in their family home. All is peaceful, quiet despite the minor disputes. However the newest Scottish visitors have a long history that they plan on bringing to town. --- "They don't like the idea of new vampires in New Orleans." He reports shamefully, holding his head downwards. The butler seemed as though fearing for his life. I hold the lavender ball gown up to my chest, looking at myself in the floor length mirror. "On the contrary, dear Joseph," I pause, listening as my sweet Scottish accented voice floats around the room in tranquility. I turn to him, my ice eyes resting on him. "We are very, very old vampires." I drop the dress, and the butler looks up in fear. My movements are as fast as a striking snake, tearing out his throat in such a swift movement there's barely any mess. I look into his eyes as he raises his hands to his neck, falling to the ground in a light thump. I walk back and pick up the lavender dress, admiring my smiling reflection in the mirror as the tragically human butler bleeds out onto the expensive Russian rug. --- Some plot lines and moments of the Originals has been altered for this story.
