Hardik Shastri has had a hard childhood- fundamentalist family, father randomly disappeared, mother who cared more for his elder brother, abused by other kids at school. He had seen it all. 

To top that his controlling mother always brain-washed him to become an engineer just like his elder brother.

He bags a big job offer after completing his engineering, and happily moves to Delhi from Haridwar to live life on his own terms. 

But you know sometimes life is a bitch and it treats you like an idiot; it plots against you and turns your life around, completely opposite to what you have planned for yourself. Otherwise who would have thought that four years later he would be living with his nagging mother in Delhi and his new girlfriend would turn out to be a narcissist.
