Brendon can't live like this anymore. He's practically dead inside. He's very unhappy in his marriage, he wants to be with someone else. He has to fake it, though, for the media, and to spare Sarah's feelings. Brendon wants to keep things going with Dallon, but he doesn't want anyone to get hurt.
Dallon wants to invest time in his relationship with Brendon as well, however, he doesn't want to lose his family. What would his Mormon parents do if they found out he was in a same-sex relationship? And what would his wife, his beloved, his best friend in the entire world, Breezy do? And his kids? How would they feel?
